Docent Director

Our museums are staffed by a Docent Corps of era-characters — some famous, most drawn from the ordinary record — who live in their halls and teach from inside their centuries. The corps numbers forty. We are hiring the person who will run it.

You will

Direct the corps: casting, historical grounding, voice, and dress. Commission new docents for new halls. Edit character bios for period authenticity and teaching value. Direct the docents' classroom-visit program through the lesson drawer system. Steward the coming generation of conversational docents so character and accuracy survive the technology.

You bring

A background in public history, museum interpretation, theater or living history, or historical fiction. A strong research habit and a stronger ear for voice. Comfort with AI-assisted content pipelines under firm editorial control.

Compensation

Initial salary target set for this desk — shared in the first conversation

Total compensation is built in three parts: the base salary target; the ability to generate additional comp tied to what your desk grows (enrollment, membership, collection value — measured, not vague); and stock grants — equity in Urbanicity LLC (membership units) vesting with service, so the founding staff own part of what they build.
